Many political debates mix two completely different questions. One concerns values: which outcomes society wants to optimize for. The other concerns consequences: which policies actually produce those outcomes.

Democracy works well for values. Prediction markets provide a strong mechanism for the policy choice, even if not enforced.

Another week of progress, another Community Call to hash things out.  

This week's Community Call mostly focused on Article 9 and Article 10 of the Humanode Charters before moving on to discussing the state of proto-Vortex, and sprinkling some bits of “to be released” news just as a perk for those who attended the call.

Vortex Dev Sim Logs 8 and 9 are out, and this round is mostly about tightening the system after Alpha went live.

A lot of fixes landed around proposal transitions, chamber voting behavior, formation lifecycle flows, and governor status reliability under real user activity. Proposal pages now follow stage transitions automatically, and each stage change keeps a snapshot of the metrics and context that triggered it.

In short: fewer rough edges, clearer proposal state changes, and a more stable environment for testing.

Reminder: Humanode Community Call this Saturday

The next Humanode community call is happening this Saturday, March 7 at 13:00 UTC.

This time, the discussion will focus on Article 9 of the Humanode Charter: Proposition Rights and Governing Tiers.

We’ll be looking at how proposal rights work across tiers, why tiers do not give extra voting power, and how the system defines progression through Proof-of-Time (PoT), Proof-of-Devotion (PoD), and Proof-of-Governance (PoG).

Because PoBU verification of uniqueness and liveness is enforced off-chain, the paper focuses on what can be checked publicly: chain-derived measurements that anyone can reproduce.

Vortex Dev Sim Log 7 is out, and this one marks a big moment.

Proto-Vortex Alpha is now fully deployed and open for real user testing, which means the sim finally steps out of internal loops and into live feedback. Formation flows are now fully lifecycle-driven, projects can actually move from active to completion through governed milestones, and a broad stabilization pass makes the whole system feel more solid under real usage.

In the last piece, we covered the eligibility interface. It explains how the chain tracks who is allowed to take part over time.

Now comes a point that the PoBU makes directly. PoBU aims for “one eligible account per human,” but it treats that claim as probabilistic, with quantified bounds.

So the question is simple: where do those bounds come from? Or how strict the rule is?

Once again, thanks for your participation in the Humanode Music Contest!
Not only were the songs that were created great, but we also learned much from the process.

In hope of making the voting process less of a chore, we had the Core team select 13 songs (originally scheduled for 10) to move forward to the voting round for all verified humans (pre-verified before the contest) to vote for the Gold and Silver prizes.

We would like to ask the winners to PM @ princessfiona in the Humanode Discord.

As a note, as in the last contest, some of the “old-world” shenanigans seemed to have been ongoing at the voting stage. There were several new accounts that tried to join the voting after the contest had started (either sockpuppeting or calling in friends and family for help). Votes also seemed to be moved around in the last 20 minutes, perhaps as a coordinated effort to elevate a few select people (or share votes with friends that needed perhaps a few extra to be elevated to get a prize).

It is good to have friends. It is good to help friends. And yes, voting is a democratic process, so there is nothing we can do to stop it, other than to remove the votes that were not eligible due to the set rules based on the technical limitations of the Discord application.

Having said that, we hope that the Humanode community will grow and mature enough to value the hard work and talent of everyone participating in these contests. These contests serve as a way to elevate the creativity and unity of the Community, as well as help spread the word. Simply put, they are not to be treated as a “money grab” for specific friends and family or groups.

If how some of the community members vote during contests shows signs of becoming the “norm”, we may have to reconsider if we, as a community, should continue contests for the community or not.

And sadly, if this ends up being how people vote in Vortex, it would truly be disappointing. (Please remember, we are striving to build the foundation for the future, not create the means for a group of people to try to grab power, or to give it away, for quick gains)

In any case, once again, congratulations to the winners, and to everyone who participated in creating Humanode-themed music. You all rock!
