Humanode Announcements

Do you all remember back when telegram was one of, if not the greatest communication app, especially for those in crypto?

Then came the bots and the scammers, ruining the Telegram experience for real Humans.

We at Humanode are fed up and started to develop BotBasher for Telegram.

What do y'all think? Should Telegram get BotBasher? Let’s hear your thoughts!

And here are what we think are the top 5 reasons why Telegram NEEDS BotBasher

Hello Humanode community!

While everyone is making fun of Polkadot spending 30M+ on marketing, we at Humanode came up with suggestions to fix token-based governance that leads to financial decisions posing risk to a decentralised organisation managing treasury.

Disclosure: Humanode is not a Parachain, but we extensively use Polkadot SDK to build our own L1.

What's happening now with Polkadot can happen to any chain with PoS and decentralized governance when token = vote.

Large amounts of tokens are concentrated in the hands of few, and it will always be so since money is not decentralized.

What makes things even worse? Only few are actively participating in onchain voting. This led to crazy inefficiencies of spending the treasury budget.

And here is what Polkadot can do now using cryptobiometric tech:

If each validator does not only have stake, but also cryptobiometrically verifies as a unique human behind the node, tens of millions could be saved by:

1) Creating a one node - one vote veto mechanism;
2) Splitting governance 50/50, where 50% is based on one token - one vote and 50% on one human = one node - one vote;

What do you suggest? Tell us in the replies: https://x.com/humanode_io/status/1808816752849268874

Stick, Snap, and Share! Welcome to the Humanode Sticker Challenge

Hello Humanode community members!

You know, those big commercial banks and financial institutions? They represent the very heart of traditional finance—a world often slow to embrace change and innovation. Let's gently shake things up a bit by placing Humanode right there. It’s a fun, cheeky way to question the old ways and spark some good conversations about how finance could be different.

What’s the deal?

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to take the Humanode logo and plant it on the building of a commercial bank or a government financial institute (the closer to the main entrance the better ;))... somewhere in your city!

Who can participate?

You can! Anyone, Anywhere, who's ready to make a statement.

Where to Play?
Globally! Any commercial bank or a government financial institution you can find can be your canvas.

Wen?
The game is on! You have 3 weeks starting today.

What's in it for you?
How about a chance to dive into a pool of $2000 in $HMND? Not enough? Let's make it more exciting and double the treasure to $4000! Join 200 winners to share the prize pool equally. And a bonus $100 for the most daring entry! Hint: Choose a location closer to the main entrance or a spot that’s highly visible to people for a better chance to win. More influential the bank/institute, the better the chance to win ;))

How do I participate?

Grab your weapon – Download the Humanode logo sticker of your choice

Print it – Think of big but not billboard big (around 10x10 cm should do the trick)

Choose your battlefield – Look for any financial institution. Be it a bank, government building, or a Fintech company.

Snap and Share –
I. Make a short video while slapping the sticker (you need to ensure the institution is visible in the video)
II. Take a picture of the placed sticker zoomed out so that the building and institute’s logo/name are visible
III. Upload the picture and video in a single post on X tagging humanode_io with hashtags #humanode #stickerninja.

Claim your trophy – Submit the tweet link to Tide https://tideprotocol.xyz/users/campaign/3fc5aa31-2d90-4f29-82d1-39ffd94d2841

Submit your entries by July 22nd, 2024!

TL;DR
Greetings, tech geeks and enthusiasts! We’re excited to bring you the latest Humanode updates from the last two weeks.

First and foremost, the WeHMND/WETH LP Biostaking program has officially launched, offering participants the chance to earn rewards over the next 6 months. By staking your LP tokens, you can immediately start receiving benefits, with expected yields ranging from 100% to 1000% APR. This is calculated using a non-linear quadratic formula, ensuring a balanced distribution of rewards across different liquidity sizes. This staking program runs from June 14th, 2024, to December 12th, 2024. To participate, ensure your EVM address is biomapped for the 1 Person = 1 EVM Account. For detailed instructions, refer to the Biodefi Guide and stake your tokens via the Humanode Biostaker.

On the development front, the team is advancing the integration of BotBasher with Telegram. The prototype is nearly finalized, and recent discussions and tests have refined the system. Dear humanode community members!

Thank you to all of those who participated in the Humanode Short Story Contest! The time has come to announce the winners!

The winner of the Short Story contest goes to SilverSkye for the creation of “Never letting go: A Vortex Love Story”, most likely the world’s first love story based on Vortex! The storyline was something the creators of Vortex never imagined, and may never come to be, but that is the power of fantasy and imagination! The writer managed to grab a spark of imagination of a “what if…” after understanding the Vortex, and gave it a growth path that we had never imagined. Kudos to SilverSkye!

Second place will be given to Fed0798 for writing “The Ancient City”, a story about struggling governance, the importance of education, and the importance of thinking of the growth of the whole community and not just grabbing power in the hands of a few. Although not themed around Vortex per se, the concepts shared in the short story showed the importance of striving to work for justice and the well-being of all.

The third place was a tough call. However, we will give the prize to Venus1084. The story was one of striving to fight for justice and equality, to preserve the balance of nature, and to develop new technologies, centered around Vortex.

There will be no “special mention” prize.

One thing to note is that there were a number of stories that we were not able to enjoy due to “No permission to view the files”. We truly wished we would have been able to enjoy those stories. One other matter is the use of ChatGPT and other AIs. There were only 5 submissions that were fully written by humans, with one of them being iffy depending on where it was checked, and one submission that some enjoyed but was recognized as an almost direct copy of the story plot of Blade Runner. Although the team recognizes that AIs can assist in many processes, the rules stated that the stories were to be written by humans, and thus all that were labeled to have used ChatGPT for more than 20% of the story, fully confirmed by 4 checkers, were disqualified.

Once again, congratulations to the winners! and here's the winning story Never letting go: A Vortex Love Story
