Dear Humanode community and Verified humans,

As previously announced, BotBasher has been updated to Gen3 and the server has been reset.

For everything to work smoothly, the server administrator of your Discord will need to create a new role based on the Gen3 BotBasher for verified accounts, and users who have been freshly bio-authenticated for Gen3 BotBasher will be able to tie their account to the new role.

Although some servers may not update immediately, for those on the Humanode Discord server, you can go ahead and become a verified Human again as soon as the update happens. (As a note, this one verification process will be good for all Gen3 Discord Servers, and you will just need to tie your freshly verified account to the new role on all Gen3 servers. Old (Gen2) roles can still be used in Gen2 servers, but new Gen2 roles are unobtainable once the update happens)

This means that:

➡️ Server admins - Please prepare new roles (or tweak and update current roles). Check this article out to see how to do it. (https://blog.humanode.io/botbasher-update-announcement-for-server-administrators/)

➡️ Users/Everyone else - Please claim your new roles! (i.e. Go to linked roles, select your role (in the case of Humanode, Verified Human. Other servers may have other names for the role, such as Verified Seilor, Verified carbon-based being, and so on), and go through the verification process again.) It is important to remember that you can only tie your biometrics to ONE Discord account. If you tie it to a wrong account, well, you will have to wait 6 months for the next reset.

We thank you all for joining our resistance towards Sybil attacks and are looking forward to seeing you all as Verified human beings again!

RPC's are back online.
Scaleway issue resolved.
All the apps run as usual.

Thank you for your patience with this issue.

Dear human nodes and friends,

Our cloud infrastructure has been affected by an outage at Scaleway.

Affected:
-Official RPC nodes
-BotBasher role syncing
-Chainport bridge (due to RPC nodes outage)
-Biostaker (due to RPC nodes outage)
-Impossible Finance (due to RPC nodes outage)
-Wallets & Apps (due to RPC nodes outage)

Unaffected:
-Humanode Chain (only our nodes are down, the rest of the blockchain works as intended)
-Biometric CVMs
-Subscan

Please connect to your own nodes to run txs while our RPC nodes are down.

BotBasher reboot will be conducted as scheduled.

Official incident report by Scaleway: https://status.scaleway.com/incidents/1p5k6r8mc4gh

Cointool has integrated Humanode EVM, opening a world of possibilities on the Humanode chain.

From token creation to transaction management, explore how this enhances our ecosystem.

Dear Verified Humans and all users of BotBasher,

We have an important announcement to share with you regarding the biometrics servers for BotBasher. BotBasher is upgrading to Gen3 (from the current Gen2), and a scheduled reset to the servers for Biometric AI upgrades will take place on Dec 8, 2023 (tomorrow).

This means that all users who have had their Discord accounts verified as a human “backed” account via BotBasher (“Verified Human” in the case of the Humanode Discord), will once again be required to go through the 15 second validation process, tie your Biometric identification to your desired Discord account and regain your status as a Verified Human (or Verified Seilor, a Verified Carbon-based Lifeform, or whatever verification title/role you have).

It is important to note that during the reboot of the biometric servers, all encrypted biometric data will be wiped, and forever lost to the world in this process.

For your information, the BotBasher bio-authentication servers are periodically updated (once in 6 months) for 2 main reasons. The first is that the AI and technology backing the bio-authentication and liveness detection is constantly being updated (at least once in 3 months for minor updates and once every 6 months for major updates). By upgrading and rebooting the system, the verification engine becomes even more secure, even more resistant to attacks, and even more accurate. Thus, please be prepared to walk through the biometric verification process once every 6 months.

The second reason is in compliance to different laws concerning data policy, and to make sure that we are up to date and 100% in compliance with the various laws around the globe.

We understand it may be a drag, but on the bright side, for those who tied your Verified Human tag to the wrong account in the past by mistake, this is your chance to make sure your biometric identity is tied to the correct account.

We thank you all for joining our resistance towards Sybil attacks and are looking forward to seeing you all as Verified human beings again!

📢 Biomapper servers have been updated and reset

Dear human nodes,

The Biomapper on the Humanode chain has been updated and reset.

For those who are participating in LP Staking, this update means that you will need to go through bioauthentication again in order to continue to earn staking rewards.

Please go to the Humanode LP Staking app https://mainnet.biostaker.hmnd.app/ in order to bioauthenticate immediately, and remember that you will need a small amount of eHMND (5 HMND) in order to bioauthenticate. It is important to remember that you will only be able to receive rewards while you are biomapped.

Thank you for your cooperation!

Biomapper servers update and reset

Dear human nodes,

We have an important announcement to share with you regarding the Biomapper on the Humanode chain. There will be a reset to the servers for Biometric AI upgrades + Confidential Virtual Machine improvements sometime between 10:00 UTC to 18:30 UTC on Wednesday, December 6th, 2023.

For those who are participating in LP Staking, this update means that you will need to go through bioauthentication again to ensure that you continue to earn staking rewards.

One thing to note is that this server update will not affect BotBasher verification, nor will it affect the Mainnet BioAuthentication for validators. The update and server reset for BotBasher will happen on Friday (Dec 8), and if you are a validator, the reset happened on Thursday, November 30th, 2023 (so if you have not re-authenticated you should do so ASAP).

We understand that this reset is very time-sensitive, and we will make a quick announcement before the reset is initiated so that everyone is ready to re-authenticate as soon as possible, so you will not miss out on rewards.

Here’s a guideline for you to stay synced and ready:
i. Wait for the official announcement from the engineering team.
ii. Shortly before the reset, the engineering team will notify you when they start working on the reset and will keep you updated as the process goes on.
iii. Once the reset is completed, there will be an announcement so that you can start the authentication immediately.
iv. Please remember that you will need a small amount of eHMND (5 HMND) in order to Bioauthenticate.

We are happy to share with you that the fee for Biomapping has been reduced to 5 HMND from 20 HMND and that this upgrade brings a qualitative improvement to the face scan process. For those of us who were just too unique and had to “re-scan” our faces a few times just to get it right, look forward to a much higher chance of getting it scanned on the first try!

Thank you for your cooperation!

Dear Human nodes and friends,

We are happy to announce that the issue with the HMND/USDC LP staking on Impossible Finance has been resolved, bridging via Chainport has been unfrozen, and are both available at this time.

The core issue, a misconfiguration of the code on the Impossible Finance side has been corrected, and checked by the Chainport cyber security team, and 114,300 of USDC have been returned to the pool.

Please, note that 80% of your LP token are now unstaked, you can find them in your EVM address. You can put them back into the Humanode Biostaker anytime.

We thank you all for your patience and understanding, and especially would like to mention that the Humanode community and investors are the best! No panic, and as cool as ever!

Dear Human nodes and friends,

We are happy to inform you that the funds that were temporarily lost due to an operational error in a parameter setting by the Impossible team have been recovered with the full cooperation of the user who discovered the issue.

We are currently working closely with impossible Finance to return the funds to the pool, quash the bug and fix the settings, and to install additional security measures. Please do not add any new funds, or withdraw funds from the LP pool at this time until fully resolved.

We thank you all for your patience and understanding.

Dear Human nodes and friends,

Due to an unexpected event (which is currently under control, but still dealing with the aftermath), unfortunately we are not able to go ahead with the scheduled “Founders Call”.

We are very sorry for the sudden cancellation of the call, but we hope for your understanding.

The call will be rescheduled, and we will notify the community of the new schedule as soon as we have everything under control.

Thanks!

Urgent Announcement 🚨

Impossible Finance's pool USDC/WeHMND was exploited due to an operational error in a parameter setting by the Impossible team.

115k USDC was drained. No other pools are affected, and the error is isolated to this pool. Nothing is wrong with the Humanode chain or any other official applications released by Humanode team.

We advise not to withdraw anything from biostaker right now.

Negotiations with the user are currently ongoing.

Here is the official statement from Impossible Finance:

1. Impossible Pause front end to add liquidity.

Impossible will cover any losses incurred by the users of this 115k who deposited ahead of Today, Friday, Dec 1st, 12PM UTC. Please do not deposit any other assets into the pool for now.

2. Impossible to work on a disbursement plan for all affected holders within the 7 days. We do not wish to see users harmed in this process and hope that this gesture can help in restoring confidence in using Impossible's products in this ecosystem. This directly harms our treasury as a project also trying to scale what we do, so we hope that this gesture is taken as a signal of our longterm belief in Humanode + the value of the chain ecosystem, as well as to show to the exploiter that this ecosystem is for long term players.

3. Impossible will put out a bounty program, we will offer 15% white hat reward if the user returns the funds within the next 5 days.

Our goal is to further support the Humanode ecosystem, and that we believe that this action directly harms the Humanode ecosystem and reputation through no fault of Humanode itself.

It was disappointing that this user bridged right away off of the chain, but we hope that this action was not of bad intent, and we are open to offering this bounty as an offer of positive gesture to an early adopter of Humanode's EVM.

Humanode will add 20 000 HMND bounty on top of it.

Here's the official address of Humanode Foundation for the return of funds: 0x1979E2103b3553b5e57a6826e2ac52FF753d39Aa

Biometric servers update and reset

Dear human nodes,

The biometric servers have been updated, and Have been rebooted.

Please go through bio-authentication enrollment and reauthenticate to ensure that your node continues to run seamlessly without missing an epoch.

Keep in mind that you do not need to rotate the keys but you must re-enroll.

One other thing to note is that this update of the biometric servers will not affect BotBasher verification, and all previous encrypted biometric data is deleted forever during this process.

Thank you for your cooperation!

Biometric servers update and reset

Dear human nodes,

We have an important announcement to share with you regarding the biometrics servers on Humanode chain. There will be a reset to the servers for Biometric AI upgrades + CVM improvements sometime between 10:00 UTC to 18:30 UTC on Thursday, November 30th, 2023 (tomorrow).

For node runners, this update means that you need to go through bioauthentication enrollment to ensure that your node continues to run seamlessly.

One thing to note is: this server update will not affect BotBasher verification, nor will it affect the Biomapper (for LP Staking). The update and server reset for BotBasher and Biomapper will happen next week.

We understand that this reset is time-sensitive, and will make a quick announcement before reset is initiated so that everyone is ready to re-enroll and re-authenticate within an epoch to avoid downtime in the validator status.

Here’s a guideline for you to stay synced and ready.
Wait for official announcement from the engineering team.
Shortly before the reset, the engineering team will notify you when they start working on the reset and will keep you updated as the process goes on.
Once the reset is completed, there will be an announcement so that you can start the enrollment and authentication immediately.

Don't worry, this reset won't impact the longevity of running your node as long as you don't change your substrate address, and re-enroll and re-authenticate within 1 to 2 hours after the reset.

On the bright side, this is a perfect opportunity for those who lost their keys or want to change to Substrate address to run a node. All you need to do is run the launcher using the new Substrate address.

We are also happy to share with you that this upgrade brings a qualitative improvement to the face scan process. For those of us who were just too unique and had to “re-scan” our faces a few times just to get it right, look forward to a much higher chance of getting it scanned on the first try!

Thank you for your cooperation!
