🧭 AI compass for mindful walks
Terra AI is a pocket device that uses vibration and a compass-like pointer to help you navigate the environment. Designer Stefano Panterotto describes it as a "non-device." It lets you walk without being distracted by your smartphone.
🎱 How does this work?
To plan a route, create a prompt that includes the location, amount of free time, and preferences for the walk. Examples from the website include: "2 hour Marais stroll with patisserie visit" and "Kyoto architecture tour, back by 16:00".
📍The gadget does not give tour information in advance: users can only be certain they will return to the same location where the walk began.
During the stroll, the device indicates the direction of movement via vibration and arrows. Terra's routes are Google Places-based, with ChatGPT handling user requests and data processing.
How can I purchase Terra AI?
🖨 The project is still in development, but its software is already available for free on GitHub. The details can be 3D printed. The assembly includes eight electrical components, including GPS and a vibration controller.
