Sage tincture
Process:
Wash and completely dry your sage leaves, preferably overnight.
Chop the sage and place in a 1-pint glass jar.
Cover completely with alcohol, place lid on, and let sit in a cool, dark place for 2 weeks (shaking thoroughly every day).
After 2 weeks, remove the lid and cover the top of the jar with cheesecloth. Strain out herbs by pouring contents into a colored glass container.
Store in a cool, dark place for up to two years.
Herbal tinctures like the sage tincture can be taken directly under the tongue, or mixed with juice, warm water, or tea. A commonly recommended dose is ¼ teaspoon three times daily, but always be sure to consult with your health care professional or herbal apothecary to ensure safety and correct usage.
