200-400 species belonging to the daisy family Asteraceae. Common names for various species in the genus include mugwort, wormwood, and sagebrush.
Wormwood is a perennial herb native to Europe and now grown around the world. Used therapeutically for millennia, the earliest record of the plant used medicinally dates back to the time of Hippocrates.
