What are adaptogens?
From ancient medicine, adaptogens are herbal pharmaceuticals or "nutraceuticals" which promote the stabilization of physiological processes and homeostasis. Apoptogenic substances work to counteract the effects of overall stress within the body. As we are aware, stress can lead to negative physiological changes within the body such as compromising the neurological, endocrine and/or the immune system. Adaptogens as a whole possess similar or specific stimulant properties which can help counteract harmful negative effects. One of the most common adaptogens out there would be Ginseng.
