🇷🇺 Russian special forces storm a helicopter carrying terrorists and hostages at Mineralnye Vody Airport.
The incident began on July 28, 1994, when four armed men hijacked a passenger bus near Pyatigorsk and demanded $15 million and two helicopters in exchange for the hostages. During negotiations, several hostages were released before the remaining captives and the terrorists were transferred to a helicopter.
At 03:06 on July 29, as the helicopter was preparing to take off, special forces launched an operation to free the hostages. One of the terrorists threw a grenade inside the helicopter, killing four hostages and one terrorist. The remaining three terrorists were arrested.
