More Aphid Talk
"Wait, Hedera. You just said that tomatoes are toxic to aphids. So why the heck do I have aphids on my tomatoes, you stinky liar?"
Yeah...
The thing about aphids is that there are so many different kinds that there is basically a type for every kind of plant. Some really just have preferences for certain plants depending entirely on your area, and it's impossible to predict what will happen.
I once had aphids all over my chard at a place I used to live. Now, my chard is untouched, even though there are aphids everywhere.
Some aphids have evolved to prey on tomatoes, it's true - but I don't think that means tomatoes are not toxic to any aphids.
It's important to remember that the pests we are dealing with are extremely diverse, and that's why it's such a struggle as a gardener to keep on top of it all. It really is an eternal battle. Every single gardener is Sisyphus pushing a rock up that damn hill.
Try, try again. Just keep in mind, different things work for different gardeners.
