PREVENT & KILL POWDERY MILDEW/TOMATO BLIGHT
It's about that time of summer when this familiar fungus foe takes the lives of our plants prematurely. But, there is a way to stop it - and I swear by it, because it's saved many of my plants.
Baking soda!
Powdery mildew and tomato blight are fungi which thrive in acidic environments, but by alkalizing the outside of the leaf to a pH of about 7-8, you can not only destroy the fungus on contact, but prevent it from spreading elsewhere - without burning your plants.
Recipe:
1 gal water
3 tbsp baking soda
1 tbsp cooking oil
2 drops undyed, unscented dish soap
Mix, put in a sprayer, spray the top and bottoms of your leaves until dripping, and voila - done! Hopefully, this increases your yield and brings you some peace. Nobody likes seeing this stuff all over their plants in what should be an idyllic paradise.
