The flashlight market is vast. You can get all kinds of lights. I'll cut the the chase and say that this one sold by Tractor Supply is the best bang for your buck that you can find for a handheld light.

Has a clip, so you can clip it to your chest. Way more ergonomic shape for gripping than the standard cylinder shaped light, which doesn't make sense with human anatomy.

This flashlight has all metal parts which are stupid easy to fix. This thing could last forever if you know what you're doing.

Headlamps are arguably more essential, as they are lightweight and keep your hands free. We used to not recommend any, because they all suck, but we have been using the Morpilot Headlamps for a year and we like them a lot. Durable, metal body, uses a standard 18650 battery (now a multipurpose part for those who vape), plenty bright, lasts a long time, and very affordable. Friends with fancy brand names gawk at the quality and longevity of ours!
