WOOL BLANKETS

Now, these probably shouldn't go in your bug out bag because they are both bulky and heavy. Try the Woobie instead.

However, this is an often forgotten aspect of the home prepper. Surely you all live in homes, right?

You need a stash of wool blankets. If your power is cut, no furnace! If you're trapped in your house/area and you aren't on a piece of land, no wood!

Wool blankets are what we are most proud of because we have tons.

Make new clothes with them. Wrap your baby in them. Give one to your cat. Put one on your dog's bed. Pile them on your bed.

I remember a time I was travelling with a family in an RV they rented in the cold fall months, and the blankets that came with it were cotton! They hadn't brought any wool.

I reached into my bag and produced my red Pendleton, let them have the blankets, and slept very warm under my wool.

My wool shawl kept their baby warm, too.

Find them in thrift stores for the best prices! Or here, or here.

You want at least 3 per person.
