Top 10 World’s Richest Families
The world’s ten richest families hold about $1.9T between them, and the Waltons alone account for more than a quarter of it. Their ~$505B comes from a 44% stake in Walmart and puts them about $170B ahead of Abu Dhabi’s Al Nahyan family.
Royal oil money is the other big block. The Al Nahyan, Al Saud and Al Thani families hold about $749B together, more than the other six non-Walton families on the list combined.
The biggest change since Bloomberg’s December ranking is in luxury. Hermès shares are down about 39%, which cut the family’s fortune by roughly $72B and dropped it from 5th to 7th. Ambani lost about $28B as Reliance fell and the rupee weakened, and Thomson lost about $9B.
Bloomberg’s ranking leaves out first-generation fortunes, which is why Musk, Bezos and Zuckerberg aren’t on it. Private fortunes are Bloomberg’s December 2025 estimates; Walton, Hermès, Ambani and Thomson are updated to October 2026 share prices.
