Psychse’s pleas fell on deaf ears, as Cupid could not bear the memories of their forbidden love and he could not forgive her for her curiousity.

“I cannot forgive you, Psyche,” Cupid whispered harshly, “You disobeyed a Law of our forbidden love by seeking to unmask my identity during my sleep. I cannot forgive your actions.”

“You broke a sacred oath!”

Cupid snapped, as he turned his back to her, his cold silence filling the void.

“...I was foolish, I was dumb, I was blinded by curiosity! Please, I am desperate, I cannot forgive my own actions.”

Psychse pleaded, her hands reaching out to touch his back, to have him turn and see all the tears that filled her eyes and her sorrows that consumed her.

“I am sorry, I am so sorry!”

Cupid is unmoved, his face hard, as he refuses to turn back around and sees the grief-stricken face of Psyche.

“Please, I cannot bear the separation of us
I will never break your trust again, I swear...”

Yet, her pleas were met with the empty, harsh silence of Cupid. The atmosphere in the divine chamber grew heavier with each passing moment. The celestial air crackled with tension as she pleas seemed to bounce off the cold walls. Cupid remained stoic, his wings taut, and his shoulders rigid. He could feel the weight of her words, the sincerity in her voice, but his wounded heart resisted the call for reconciliation.
