📊 What is the SEC’s proposed “Regulation Crypto Assets”?

The U.S. SEC has proposed a new framework for certain investment contracts involving crypto assets, including a startup exemption of up to $5M and a fundraising exemption with tiers of up to $20M and $75M.

The proposal also introduces a conditional safe harbor for eligible projects that complete or permanently cease key development work, make no new key development commitments, and meet required disclosure conditions.

The proposal remains under the U.S. rulemaking process.
