The expat phenomenon as well as economic migration are two very similar examples of why capitalism is ultimately antithetical to nationalism.
Itās very difficult for most people to be loyal to a country they canāt even afford to live in. If itās easier for them to live better lives in more affordable countries, because runaway-capitalism has made their homeland unaffordable, there is objectively something very wrong. In the 21st century especially, you canāt claim to be 100% capitalist and also a nationalist that is loyal to his nation and homeland ā itās one or the other.
An absolute capitalist cannot be loyal to his nation and homeland, because that whole philosophy revolves around maximizing capital. In the 21st century, that means moving to which ever country is going to give you the biggest bang for your buck, and thus becoming a āglobal citizenā that lives internationally and has no loyalty to anything but his own capital.
I like the idea of free markets, but you also have to have limits. All economic policies should revolve around the wellbeing of the nation first and foremost.
