I've always found it amazing — I have so many friends who run businesses in unconventional niches, have teams of literally three people, make millions of dollars, and spend a couple of hours a day working on a computer or phone. And in their niche there's zero competition, none whatsoever. Everyone knows each other by heart, yet the market is beautiful in terms of revenue.

But at the same time, there are literally millions of marketplace sellers and just as many bloggers who, like freelancers, make ten grand a month max, if that, buried so deep in operations you'd think they held a key position in government corruption or at a bank.

People are amazing creatures — how alike we are, and how different our brains and thought processes are. Some are thinking about how to put satellites into Earth's orbit so the whole planet has internet, when we'll finally fly to Mars, and how to make space travel cheaper thanks to stages that return to Earth, while simultaneously building an electric car company. And others spend half their lives not knowing what to do with themselves, because work is somehow boring, and everything around them is a drag, and the only thought in their head is what tasty thing to eat and how to entertain themselves on a weekend evening — and it goes on like that their whole life…

All of this feels like a glimpse into the future — a world already split between living beings with souls who've passed biometric verification, and AI humanoids carrying a GPU under the hood instead of a heart.

These days I rarely attend any conferences, unlike in previous years when it was kind of a trend. I've lost interest in mass events like these. Through predictive coding, the brain predicts reality based on the identity image and adjusts attention to fit that forecast. This forms a self-fulfilling prophecy, where automatic behavior triggers the expected reaction from the world and ultimately locks in the current identity. Changing the self-model happens through a combination of truthful actions and detailed work with the imagination.

Since a detailed internal simulation is often indistinguishable from reality for the brain, this allows the self-model to be rewritten bypassing the critical filter. The brain is finally convinced of the changes when self-perception theory comes into play.

The psyche observes real micro-steps taken from the new role and draws a conclusion about who the person has become. Gradually, such repeated signals strengthen the brain's neural circuits and make the new result a natural consequence of the personality.
