Cabeza Del Buey: A Small Town With a Big History
Cabeza del Buey [Head of the Ox] is a beautiful old town in the province of Badajoz in Extremadura, Spain in the region known as La Serena, roughly 300 km southwest of Madrid, near the borders with Andalusia and Castilla-La Mancha. The town hosts a population of around 4,500 inhabitants. It is situated on the foothills of the Sierra Morena mountains and nearby lakes. It is well-known by bird watchers for the variety and quantity of its many different bird species.
