ATSC Broadcast-To-Everything Standard Clears Key Hurdle

ATSC has approved a candidate standard that moves its Broadcast-to-Everything effort one step closer to industry review, laying groundwork for a system designed to help devices discover and connect with future B2X services. The Broadcast Standards Association said the specification, known as S44-2-002r6 and titled “B2X System Discovery and Signaling,” is intended to provide one of the core building blocks for a broader platform that could combine broadcast efficiency with the scale of mobile networks.
