Google rolling out 'Scanning for deceptive apps' feature for Android 14 QPR2 Beta.

In Android 14 QPR2 Beta 2 Mishaal Rahman (via Android Police) discovered a new “scanning for deceptive apps” page under Settings → Security & privacy → More security & privacy. From the description, this feature will scan apps for phishing or other deceptive behavior.

According to Mishaal, the feature works through a new system service called "ContentProtection" that checks if certain apps don't use certain mechanisms; whether an app is a system app or whether it requests the Internet permission.

It looks like Google has now decided to quietly roll out this feature to Android 14 QPR2 Beta 3.1 users.
