A “COLD and calculated” predator who tried to kidnap a young girl has been jailed for 13 years.
Kieran Mansfield, 35, attempted to kidnap and sexually assault an 11-year-old girl in Leigh, Southend, at around 5.10pm on February 5.
After investigating the circumstances, a manhunt to find Kieran was launched and the sicko was arrested the next day. Footage of Kieran’s arrest shows an officer running after him in the street shouting at him to “stop”.
Detective chief inspector Greg Wood, who led the investigation, said: “This young girl was followed by Mansfield for some time, and I can only imagine the unease this will have caused her before he launched his attack upon her. “His actions were cold, calculated and predatory.

The woman, now 20, said his comments made her feel sick and added: “I still have scars to this day.”

A BOAT migrant released from jail was given the keys to a taxpayer-funded home two days before he committed a sickening sex crime against a pair of young girls.
Mohammed Abbas, 29, had been sentenced for assaulting a cop when he broke into the sisters’ Cardiff home and exposed himself in July.
Abbas, who claims to be Palestinian, arrived on a dinghy from France in March.
But by June he was behind bars on remand having been arrested for sexual assault on a female, common assault, assaulting a constable on duty and assault by beating.
