A 34-week pregnant woman has reportedly been left homeless in Glasgow after, according to charity Homeless Project Scotland, she was refused accommodation.
The woman travelled from London to escape domestic abuse, but after a four-hour interview with social services, she was allegedly told to go back.
She ended up spending the night in a shelter on a mattress on the floor before finding herself back on the streets the following morning. The charity claims a social services worker told them: “An unborn child has no rights.”
It’s heartbreaking. How can a vulnerable woman be told to return to a place she was trying to escape from and then be left on the streets, while thousands of migrants are welcomed with open arms? The government really needs to take a serious look at its priorities.
