"on this day, six year ago the debut album under Tim Six alias was released, as a separate timeline for the more refined and minimalist drone music – unlike my previous project Creation VI which extensively uses acoustic instruments, voice and ritualistic approach and was usually categorized under 'dark ambient' tag. even though Creation VI had quite minimal drones in the discography as well, this felt as a necessary thing to do in order to maintain some consistency - narrative music for Creation VI, abstract drones for Tim Six. over the course of these six years things got messed up again, and Tim Six alias had a variety of albums going all over [the space], from almost new age-y ambience to some noisy sound walls. so guess that's just the nature of music - to go beyond the limits and set rules.
yet, revisiting Infinity Studies recently i realized that some things didn't change at all. i have switched from laptop to purely hardware setup, i have tried many different methods but the result is still the same in its essence – rather a state than a story. even though each recording is a story for me. it's still 'just a sound' which can be interpreted and perceived in many ways. and that's good. guess that's what i prefer to do – to create a safe aural space to be in. to simply be and not doing anything else, because we do enough things in our lives anyway. even relaxing is doing something =) so i won't ask even that. but of course, if you really want to, hopefully these sounds can tell a story. or it's you who's making it and the sound is just a trigger for a new neural connection? it's probably both though.
in any case, here i am, six years after, doing the same thing and this album didn't age at all. sine waves, some nature sound, a little delay... drone is life =) enjoy it"
