A recently launched joint aviation training center in Ban Keun, Laos, probably hosts a contingent twice as large as was intended before, footage analyzed by SCMP reveals.

➡️ While the Lao People's Liberation Army Air Force has only four K-8 Chinese-made trainer aircraft, eight were seen on the runway

➡️ This potentially hints at the presence of China's aircraft, which conduct joint drills with the Lao Air Force

China's presence at this base allows the country to shield its major logistics routes in the region, including the Belt and Road Initiative, while strengthening defense ties with Laos and expanding its military footprint in Southeast Asia.
