📹 Supertanker engulfed in flames after striking mine in Strait of Hormuz — IRGC

A crude oil supertanker attempting to leave the Strait of Hormuz through an unauthorized route struck a naval mine and suffered a massive explosion, Iran's IRGC Navy said.

The vessel had switched off its navigation and positioning systems and is now engulfed in flames visible from the coast, according to the statement.

The IRGC warned that tankers violating the strait's security rules risk a similar fate.
