US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth once again parroted the claim that the US controls the Strait of Hormuz, portraying its six-month military debacle around Iran’s shores as an overwhelming success.
💬 “They don’t control it. We do. They have literally gotten nothing through,” Hegseth told reporters.
He went further, claiming the US “dominate[s]” the strategic waterway “in both an asymmetric and a conventional sense,” while threatening Iran with further military action if it continues to resist..
💬 “It may have to happen the hard way,” he boasted.
Middle Eastern crude exports remain below their February pre-war level, while traffic through Hormuz itself has repeatedly fallen far below normal volumes during the conflict.
