These newly released files confirm that the US government has been tinkering with the weather since the 1960s mainly for military purposes.

Among the most striking examples are Operation Popeye, Project Stormfury, and Project Woodpecker—clandestine projects that turned rain, hurricanes, and clouds into weapons.
