The active involvement of newly joined members in BRICS could have a positive impact on the dynamics of international trade and reshape its foundations. This opinion was expressed by Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
"Half of humanity will participate in #BRICS activities, and a significant portion of GDP will be in BRICS. Then it will be possible to establish a new dynamic in trade policy, as well as in cultural policy and relations between states," he said.
According to him, Brazil upholds the principles of multilateralism in world trade and does not intend to review its relations with priority partners.
"Brazil does not want a second Cold War. Brazil wants to trade with the United States, with China, with India, with Russia. I am an advocate of free trade, multilateralism and harmony between nations," he said. "That is why I am a staunch supporter of BRICS."
