π Word of the week: BRICS Law Institute
The BRICS Law Institute was established in 2015 in Yekaterinburg as a platform for academic and expert cooperation between leading law schools in the πππππ countries. Its formation was the result of many years of work by research centres, universities and international organisations.
The memorandum on the establishment of the Institute was signed by universities from Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. Later, new partners joined the project, forming a broad network of law schools and research centres in the #BRICS countries.
ποΈ Key tasks of the BRICS Law Institute:
β conducting comparative studies of the legal systems of BRICS countries;
β preparing legal recommendations and draft documents for the harmonisation of legislation;
β working on international legal acts on economic, financial, taxation and dispute resolution issues;
β organising international conferences, forums and scientific meetings;
β supporting publishing activities and developing legal education;
β expert and analytical work on cross-border economic activities.
π The Institute brings together leading scholars and practitioners from Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa and other countries. The work is carried out within the framework of two key expert groupsβon public economic disputes, international taxation and mediation, as well as on comparative law and the integration of legal education.
