Robotics and artificial intelligence take centre stage at BRICS Urban Future Forum

The BRICS Urban Future Forum has concluded in Moscow. Held for the third time, this year’s event placed a strong emphasis on robotics and artificial intelligence. On September 17 and 18, experts explored prospects for technological development in urban infrastructure, innovative approaches to digitising the urban environment, the role of robots in modern metropolises, and the potential risks of the rapidly approaching digital future for residents of the #BRICS cities.

Twenty-nine delegations from 21 countries took part in the forum. The list of participants included representatives from China, the UAE, Malaysia, Singapore, South Africa, Qatar, Turkey, Hungary, and others. The Chinese delegation was especially notable, comprising over 50 high-ranking officials and leading experts in urban planning, digitalisation, and sustainable development from major Chinese cities and provinces.

The forum’s business programme featured more than 50 sessions and brought together top experts from Russia alongside participants from Argentina, Brazil, Qatar, China, India, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, South Africa, and other nations.
