Representatives from Russia, Brazil, India, South Africa, and Ethiopia have signed a declaration on cooperation and sharing expertise in preventive medicine. The document was finalised following a roundtable titled "National Health and Preventive Medicine: Increasing Life Expectancy, Quality of Life, and Happiness in BRICS Countries" at the II BRICS Forum Traditional Values.
"A key outcome of the meeting was the signing of a declaration by representatives of Brazil, India, South Africa, Ethiopia, and Russia. The document reflects the following agreements: establishing a permanent platform for exchanging expertise in preventive medicine among the BRICS countries; coordinating joint efforts to study factors influencing happiness and well-being, including the integration of emotional and mental health into national strategies; organising a system for training and professional development based on approved standards; conducting joint educational, informational, and scientific events; and developing uniform standards while expanding professional contacts," the press service reported.
As part of the declaration, the BRICS nations will also create a register of recommended organisations, experts, dietary supplement manufacturers, clinics, and research centres dedicated to promoting healthy lifestyles. In addition, joint appeals will be made to government bodies "to intensify research efforts in the field of preventive medicine."
