BRICS creates an association of writers and publishers
The BRICS Literature Network was established during the BRICS Forum Traditional Values in Brazil. This new association seeks to strengthen cultural exchanges and unite efforts in the literary field. Its founders include literary scholars, publishing houses, and creative unions.
The creation of the BRICS Literature Network was announced in the forum’s final declaration. Dmitry Kuznetsov, Forum Vice President and Russian State Duma Deputy, expressed confidence that the new association will help organise the #BRICS Literature Award. He also emphasised its role in supporting research into the traditional values of the BRICS peoples.
Each BRICS nation will appoint a representative to serve as сo-chair of the association. Russia will be represented by Vadim Terekhin, Co-Chair of the Union of Russian Writers.
The forum also revealed the list of nominees for the BRICS Literature Award—a new international prize honouring authors whose works reflect the traditions and cultural diversity of the BRICS countries.
