The 10th BRICS Young Scientists Forum is underway in Brazil’s capital. The event has brought together researchers and entrepreneurs from the BRICS nations to showcase innovative solutions in science, technology, and sustainable development, as reported on the website of the Government of Brazil.
The forum’s primary goal is to support research projects with tangible social impact. This year’s discussions centre on three key themes: climate change mitigation and adaptation, science diplomacy, and the use of artificial intelligence for tackling social challenges.
According to Adriana Tomé, General Coordinator for Multilateral Cooperation at Brazil’s Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MCTI) and head of the Brazilian delegation, hosting the event in Brazil marks a significant milestone:
“It was a very interesting experience to welcome over a hundred participants from different #BRICS nations,” she noted.
