What is GIWA?

GIWA (Global Infrastructure for Web3 Access) is an Ethereum Layer 2 blockchain built on the OP Stack (Optimism) by Dunamu, the parent company of Upbit — South Korea’s largest cryptocurrency exchange.

It aims for 1-second block times, very low fees, and full EVM compatibility.
Key Highlights:

• Raised ~$1.22B through its parent company (Dunamu valuation ~$10B).
• Samsung acquired 4% of Dunamu for $400M.
• Currently in public testnet (Giwa Sepolia) with 120M+ transactions and 30M+ addresses.
• Private Mainnet expected in August–September 2026.
