GARDEN PSA:
Praying Mantis nymphs (babies) hatch from a hard shell casing called an ootheca. The ootheca is a foamy pouch that the female mantis encloses her eggs in, which dries and hardens to protect the nymphs until they hatch.
Leave the ootheca alone when you see it. Even though the ootheca contains hundreds of eggs only a small fraction of the hatched nymphs survive to adulthood, so they will not overrun your yard.
Praying Mantises are also a symbol of GOOD LUCK! So live long and prosper that garden. ❤️🌱☀️ 🍀
