The FBI has found dozens of "infected" games on Steam. It turned out that since 2024, attackers have been actively publishing games with embedded strollers and trojans.
Most of the viruses were found in indie projects.
The FBI is trying to identify individuals who were affected after installing one of the malicious games on Steam from May 2024 to January 2026. As part of the investigation, the bureau has identified several malicious games, including BlockBlasters, Chemia, Dashverse/DashFPS, Lampy, Lunara, PirateFi, and Tokenova.
Be careful if you're interested in a new indie game!
