Anthropic обьявил, что ограничивает доступ к Fable 5 для не-граждан US в рамках общего указа об национальной безопасности США.

По моим внутренним тестам (пока у меня был доступ), Fable 5 лучше, чем Opus 4.8, но к сожалению, улучшение неоправданно двухкратной стоимостью.

Я думаю, что скоро, война за лидерство в LLM и инвестиции достигнут своего пика. Штаты сделали прецедент, где LLM могу стать драйвером для экономического давления на другие страны. Получается, что провайдеры LLM теперь могут полностью контролировать компании, которые от них зависят.

Это создает условия, в которых, компании будут вынуждены развивать это направление, даже если этого не хотели.

Будем следить за развитием ситуации дальше. Я все еще остаюсь сторонником того, что в скором времени, наши сочные лимиты AI порежут и компании будут частично вынуждены снова просить разработчиков писать код руками 👨‍💻

LLM Wars — We’re Only Getting Started

Anthropic has announced that it is restricting access to Fable 5 for non-U.S. citizens under a broader U.S. national security directive.

Based on my internal testing (while I still had access), Fable 5 is better than Opus 4.8. Unfortunately, however, the improvement doesn’t justify the fact that it costs roughly twice as much.

I think the battle for LLM leadership and investment is about to reach its peak. The U.S. has created a precedent where LLMs can become a tool for economic pressure on other countries. In practice, this means that LLM providers can effectively exert significant control over companies that depend on their services.

This creates an environment in which companies may be forced to invest in this area, even if they would have preferred not to.

It will be interesting to see how the situation develops. I still believe that, before long, our generous AI usage limits will be cut back, and companies will be at least partially forced to ask developers to write code by hand again ☹️
