BREAKING: DOJ WARNS LA COUNTY ELECTION OFFICIALS OVER 20,000 SUSPECTED NONCITIZEN VOTER REGISTRATIONS
The Trump DOJ has issued a formal notice warning Los Angeles County election officials they could face federal criminal liability if they count ballots cast by noncitizens. After the county claimed it was legally barred from temporarily setting aside ballots linked to more than 20,000 suspected noncitizens, DOJ responded: “That position is incorrect as a matter of federal law.” The department says officials can hold the ballots while citizenship is verified, warning that “administrative difficulty” is no defense to violating federal law or aiding a federal offense.
