"I urge the EU to allocate us another €70 billion in support next year. Find these funds," Zelenskyy said.

The EU summit, however, did not offer Ukraine any new financial assistance or shipments of weapons, including missiles for air defense.

Other statements he made:

- Ukraine will become a member of the European Union. More and more people understand that our country and we ourselves need a presence in NATO;

- The issue is not about withdrawing troops from Donbass. It is about the existence of our country. Right now, we are standing and fighting. What alternative is there? Destruction;

- What will happen if we fall? 20 million Ukrainians will come to Europe because they will destroy us and drive us out;

- We are also protecting Moldova from Russian attempts to create problems through Transnistria;

- Sometimes we even have to redeploy some of our military forces from other tasks to control the risks coming from Transnistria.
