NATO plans to convene an emergency meeting after a drone hit a residential building in Romania.

The publication reports that as a result of the drone crash in the city of Galati, two stairwells of a residential building and five cars were damaged.

The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the drone that fell on the country's territory allegedly belonged to Russia.

Bucharest accused Moscow of a "serious and irresponsible escalation" and summoned the Russian ambassador.

The article notes that NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte was informed about the incident.

“Romania called on allies to quickly deploy additional drone defense systems. NATO also accused Moscow of the drone strike, calling the incident ‘reckless’. The alliance will further strengthen its defense against all threats, including drones,” said a NATO press secretary.
