If + will, an impossible combo? Not really!
Here're three cases of If + will that might feel illegal but are completely grammatically correct:
1️⃣ Results = "if it will be the later's result"
I'll give you a hundred if I win the lottery.
vs
I'll give you a hundred if it will help you get home.
2️⃣ "If it is true now that... If we know that...":
If prices will really come down in a few months, I'm not going to buy a car now.
In a sense that "If I know that prices will come down in a few months, I'm not going to buy a car now"
3️⃣ Insistence
If you WILL ask me, no, I don't think it's a good idea. = If you insist on asking me...
If you WILL eat so much, it's not surprising you feel sick. = If you insist on eating so much...
There's more, but these three are my favs
