Australian Wheat Exports Set to Surge 47% Amid Black Sea Disruptions

Australia is on track to export around 2.6 million tonnes of grain in October, 47% above the five-year average, as escalating attacks on Black Sea ships and grain terminals disrupt wheat supplies from Russia and Ukraine. Wheat is expected to account for roughly two-thirds of shipments, making this Australia's busiest October for grain exports in 16 years.

Rising demand from the Philippines, Indonesia, China and other markets is boosting Australia's role in global grain trade. Meanwhile, wheat, soybean and corn futures edged higher, as traders monitor supply disruptions, export flows and geopolitical risks shaping agricultural commodity prices.
