after Merit's mother died of some sickness(i love killing mothers😇), her father, who hated her for being born a girl, began to train her, forcing her to fight. He wanted to create a 'son' by punishing Merit, beating her etc etc.
Merit was 10-11 when she killed her father, he was drunk and she finally get the courage to end her suffering, taking his life with the knife he gave her(which will be named Voitto later).
some time has passed since Merit started to living on the streets, raiding stores and people for food, sometimes killing them if she felt like it. Zodyl then found her after murdering a man who was trying to taki his wallet back or whatever reason blah blah blah that's not important. He, a leader of the Raiders, offered Merit to join him, but she refused. She then joined them anyway, after making sure Zodyl wasn't trying to hurt her(omg????)
Merit fought fiercely on Raiders side, she was deadly in battle, and showed to mercy(since her father taught her that mercy is weakness and stuff, n f
i also imagine Merit get badly injured in a fight with da Cleaners and they lowkey take her in as hostage????(they'll heal her dw.) Tomme(for idk reason) was entrusted to watch over Merit from time to time. at first, she didn't trust a woman, why would she? she's her enemy. but, with time, she'd warm up to her, just a little.
Kit then shows up and make a kind of bond with Merit??(yes, Kit must be there for all traumatized kids) all the soft words from him to Merit, made her feel strange. She hadn't used to kindness towards her such as this.
when Raiders came to fetch her, Merit felt a little empty, less warm. She tried to convince herself that the Raiders is where she belongs, she almost considers them family in some twisted way. She cut out all those strange feelings she felt towards the Supporter and a Supplier.

The closest thing to a friend she made was Jabber of all people. they go on the missions together and stuff, fighting together agains Cleaners, it was their routine. even though Merit wasn't very expensive, she was rather cold and emotionless(maybe because she was raised poorly or took an example from Zodyl, who knows eho knows) it was never a boundary between them. let's say those two r close(u can choose in what way lol idc)
