We missed last Friday due to death, sulfur and cinder emanating from the depths unknown. Now we're back, for science.

Papers of the day:
- BERT: deep bidirectional transformers optimized for embeddings
- Clash: a functional hardware description language (also additional examples)
+ a discussion on the tech hiring freeze being caused by fed interest rate hike

We’ll walk through each paper and collectively resolve any unclear spots as we do so. Then we’ll share our perspectives on the subject and figure our how the paper fits into our life.
