Today is "Victory" day in Russia—the day that Vladimir Putin attempts to appropriate the Soviet victory over Hitler to legitimize his own despotic rule.

Putin has now been fighting Ukraine longer than the USSR fought the Nazis, and it's going much worse for him, despite Donald Trump's efforts to shift the balance of power in his favor.

Putin has systematically cracked down on dissent, torturing and imprisoning anarchists, feminists, and anti-war activists. Putin's regime is one of the most repressive in the entire world. Hundreds of thousands of Russians and Ukrainians would still be alive if not for Putin's senseless invasion of Ukraine.

Those who make excuses for Putin are despicable enemies of freedom. We support Russian and Ukrainian anarchists, feminists, and anti-war protesters.
