A trial is underway in Munich for a man from Yemen accused of the brutal murder of his wife with a kitchen knife.
The "engineer" killed her after she announced she would expose a years-long fraud scheme through which he had obtained social welfare benefits for two children who were not his own.
In the weeks leading up to the murder, Danon Mohammed Saeed (37) had beaten Shahira (29) with a wooden stick and locked her in the bathroom for hours. The court had issued a restraining order against him, which he failed to obey.
The indictment states that on June 14, 2025, he purchased a knife with a 15 cm blade, forced his way into an apartment in Krailling near Munich, and stabbed his wife multiple times before nearly decapitating her. Mohammed and Shahira had four children together, for whom the couple also received benefits.
