about 8 or so years ago atlanta decided to destroy a significant part of the forest that surrounds the city to build a massive national police training facility. there was a huge amount of pushback from the left on this and not nearly enough pushback from the right.
a few of the talking point that were injected into the conversation were that
1. "actually we arent destroying the forest the facility wont even be in the forest"
2. "we super duper promise that we wont do any training in the forest its self" (they refused any legally binding promises not to perform training in the forest proper.
they built the training complex in the forest. they razed land that homed a bunch of endangered species. species that you children probably wont be able to ever experience because they couldnt be assed to put a facility no one wanted in a better place.
after opening the facility people found spent ammo casings, CS gas grenades, and flashbang grenades in the forest. flashbangs are incendiary and their use creates a high risk of causing a forest fire.
regarding the american chestnut grove, they are now claiming that "we arent even building the data center over the chestnuts, chud. its like, just going nearby or whatever" THEY ARE LYING
they say "but its like not even going to affect the stupid trees" IT FUCKING WILL
