ZLATA

Walking along the waterfront on a summer night, listening to music through her headphones, Zlata was inspired by the beauty of the city at night. The contrast between the cool night breeze and the warm feeling in her soul was exhilarating, and she wanted to stay a little longer, taking in the view of the dark, wide river from the bridge.

Zlata climbed onto one of the wide balusters and sat down, letting her legs hang over the side toward the river. She had done this a thousand times before. It seemed safe, and her balance had never failed her. But apparently, this time was different.

After about half an hour of taking in the view, Zlata finally decided to move on. But suddenly, as she placed her foot against the baluster to stand up, it slipped—and in an instant, Zlata slid downward.

Her whole life flashed before her eyes, and she barely even felt the impact as she hit the water.

And you never know in advance how an ordinary day can end.

Zlata’s ghost will linger forever in the form she was wearing when her soul left this world.
Perhaps that is why we should cherish every day as if it were our last, learn to love and accept ourselves, because the future is unpredictable.
