🇷🇺🇺🇦Ukraine’s steel industry produced no steel in September after Russian strikes knocked out almost all of the blast furnaces that were still operating, according to Oleksandr Kalenkov, head of the Ukrrmetallurgprom association.
Kalenkov said the situation could worsen in October: ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih announced a full shutdown, and Zaporizhstal is also stopping steel smelting. The industry says the stoppages are driven both by the strikes and by the blockade of maritime exports.
