🇮🇶🇺🇸🇮🇷Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi set 30 June 2027 as the new deadline for armed factions to hand over their weapons to the state, after the end of the US-led coalition in Iraq.
Al-Zaidi also said October 1 marks a “serious beginning” to address weapons outside state control, with the agreed roadmap running no later than 30 June 2027. The Iraqi government says the coalition’s withdrawal will remove the justification used by those factions, many of them backed by Iran, to keep their arsenals.
